I serve as the Director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Mentoring Research and Director of the Summer Institute on Youth Mentoring. My research focuses on the development and influence of youth mentoring relationships and strategies for improving youth mentoring programs. I also address the well-being of youth aging out of the foster care system. In addition, I am the Co-PI of the BUILD EXITO initiative, a major NIH-funded project to support undergraduates from traditionally underrepresented student populations in preparing for graduate studies in health sciences.
