Mrudula Gopalkrishna

Hello! My name is Mrudula Gopalkrishna, I usually go by Mru. I am enrolled in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department graduate program. I come from a ‘City of Palaces’ called Mysore located in South India. Ironically, the City of Palaces is calm and quiet. It is one of the very few cities where the probability of getting stuck in traffic so low that I can boldly claim you’ll never.

For as long as I can remember, I have had a strong desire for fixing problems and have always yearned to right all the wrongs. Engineering enables me to do just that. My areas of interest are Machine Learning, Internet-of-Things and Astronomy. What excites me most is the fact that the only limit to what you can do with them is your imagination.

As a student ambassador for Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science (MCECS), I get to advocate for science and engineering, like Bill Nye and Neil Degrasse Tyson, who have been people I have looked up to as I was growing up. I also have a thing for laboratories and being involved in the ambassador program lets me get a glimpse of all the exciting labs in PSU!

A piece of advice for anyone starting out at PSU is to explore resources in and also outside of your department and get involved every chance you get! There is a lot happening at any given time around the campus and the experience is rewarding.
