How did you end up at PSU?

I came to Portland for a summer exchange program during my sophomore year of high school in Taiwan and stayed a month. I immediately fell in love with the city, the culture and the people here. So when I decided to come to the U.S. for college, PSU automatically became one of my top options. All six universities that I applied to accepted me, but I chose PSU for its urban location, globalism and multiculturism.

What’s your best memory from your time at PSU?

My best memories have always been working with other students on the things that we are all so passionate about like sustainability, globalization, gender equalities, and many other issues.

What is your favorite spot on campus and why?

Right now it’s my office on the first floor REC center. As one of the coordinators as the Student Ambassadors program, I spend about 20 hours here every week. Feel free to stop by and say hi to me whenever you want.

What is the most important thing you learned at PSU?

I learned that opportunity is created, not given. I’ve been at Portland State for about four years now and during that time I’ve held almost ten positions on campus. For each position, I worked hard to earn it.

What advice would you give a student considering attending PSU?

Open your heart for all the activities and opportunities offered in college life. You never know if you are going to like something until you try it.
