Achim Pietzcker is a licensed architect in Germany and Switzerland who has been specializing in large-scale construction in Switzerland for the past twelve years. His major projects were the Zurich Insurance headquarters and the Westhöfe, Limmatfeld for Adolf Krischanitz and the State Hospital of Uri for Darlington Meier Architects. As well as specializing in the design and management of major projects, he taught history and theory of architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. Prior to his career in Switzerland, he gained practical experience in offices in Stuttgart and Berlin, and was a writer and copy editor for the German architecture journal ARCH+. Pietzcker received his Diploma (Masters) in Architecture from the University of Stuttgart with an exchange at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, Switzerland.
