Molly Gray

Molly Gray is an educator, community organizer and social worker by profession.  Prior to higher ed, she worked within community education, houseless and LGBTQ+ youth organizations and as a community mental health therapist.  Since 2005 she has offered Senior Capstones in the University Studies program, primarily working with youth and LGBTQ+ populations.  Her courses partner with such organizations as the Sexual & Gender Minority Youth Resource Center (SMYRC), the Rock & Roll Camp for Girls and the Trans Oral History Project at the New York Public Library, among others.  She is the founder and collective member of Queer Rock Camp Pdx, an annual no-cost intergenerational arts & music-based summer camp for low-income & houseless LGBTQ+ young people.  She holds a BA in Feminist Studies and Creative Writing from Beloit College and an MSW from Portland State University.  She is passionate about education as a tool of liberation and transformative possibility.  In her free time, she enjoys creating textiles, literature, film, art and being in nature.
