Meet Sarah Livengood

Sarah’s passion for working in disability services and higher education began in 2015 when she was hired as a student employee in Portland State University’s (PSU) Disability Resource Center (DRC) as an Alternative Formats Technician and Classroom Assistant for blind and visually impaired students.  After completing her Bachelors of Psychology in 2016 at PSU, Sarah transitioned into the role of Office Assistant and subsequently into her current position as Office Manager of the DRC.  Sarah strives to keep current and knowledgeable on issues of accessibility and inclusion, ableism, and emerging trends in disability and higher education through her work at the DRC, her contributions as treasurer on the Board of Directors for Oregon Association for Higher Education and Disability (ORAHEAD), and attendance of regional and national conferences on disability.  Having returned to complete her education as a lifelong adult learner who experiences anxiety and depression, Sarah understands the importance of creating a safe, welcoming, and efficient experience for students visiting the DRC.  Sarah is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Oregon State University, thereby expanding the scope of her student support and service skill set to additional student populations in the higher education platform.

Please visit the Disability Resource Center website to learn more about accommodations and accessibility at PSU.
