Lauren Muñoz

Lauren Muñoz Tremblay is a Portland State University biology and psychology alumna and president of the PSU LSAMP alumni association. A former Ronald E. McNair Scholar and BUILD EXITO mentor, she has had opportunities to conduct and assist with research involving the resilience of invasive species, evolutionary genetics, pediatric ADHD and ASD, and the effects of gene therapy on patients with ophthalmic genetic diseases leading to blindness (XLRS, RP, Usher’s Syndrome, SMD). Lauren continues to learn about medicine first-hand from a long-time physician mentor at Legacy Emanuel Hospital and spends time working with adults with I/DD. She is also continuing to pursue her goal of becoming a physician and researcher as she begins her first year as a medical student at Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine at NMSU in 2017 with interests in genetics, general surgery, and internal medicine.
