Fardowsa Idris

Fardowsa Idris was a transfer student from Portland Community College and recent PSU graduate who majored in General Science and minored in Biology. She was involved with multiple student organizations on campus and has served as student President for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Vice President for Association of African Student (AAS), and the lead coordinator for the LSAMP Women in STEM team. She volunteers for Girls Inc. of Oregon NW and Providence St. Vincent Hospital in the emergency department. She is a former Ronald E. McNair Scholar and conducted research in Dr. Shankar’s physical chemistry lab on the synthesis and separation of nanomaterials. In LSAMP, she served as an office assistant, organic chemistry tutor and Student Advisory Board member. Fardowsa will begin a joint PA/MPH program at Touro University in California in fall 2017.
