Art History Major Erin Frye Works with Curators at Portland Art Museum

At the Portland Art Museum, PSU art history major Erin Frye is assisting curator Sara Krajewski with preparations for an upcoming exhibition of prints by Andy Warhol. Drawing details for the exhibition checklist from the catalogue raisonné, Erin is also researching how ideas of appropriation, seriality, and originality relate to Warhol's printmaking, sourcing period articles as well as current scholarship on the artist. Recently at PSU, Erin helped faculty organize an exhibition of Native American art for the Broadway Lobby Gallery, participating in program planning and catalogue editing and design.

Looking forward to graduate school, Erin plans to pursue a dual degree in Library and Information Science and Art History. "I feel strongly," she says, "that art plays an important role in education, and I'm interested in the preservation and documentation of artworks, as well as in maintaining their accessibility to the public."
