The National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) awarded PSU’s Turntable Advising its Innovative Program Award at the Western Regional Conference in Salt Lake City. Turntable Advising puts a new "spin" on academic and career advising at PSU by providing information to the PSU campus community while using an old medium in a new way to reach out to students and get them engaged on campus.

Turntable Advising is a weekly, one hour long talk radio program that is broadcast by KPSU, PSU’s radio station. Turntable Advising has been on the air since September of 2011, and was originally conceived by three academic advisers in the Advising and Career Services office at PSU. The idea behind the show was to reach out to students through a different medium; to make sure that PSU is giving students every possible chance to receive timely and important information such as registration dates, campus wide deadlines, information about majors, careers, and any other advising and career related information that will be crucial to the success of all PSU students; and do this in a fun, interesting, and unique way
