Confucius Institute - Educational Development Internship Program (EDIP) 

Teach English in Jiangsu Province, China, while learning Chinese language and culture.
50 Internship positions are available.

3-week training program and program support:

  • An initial training program ntroduces participarts to the Chinese educational system and program regulations. Participants learn from experience teachers about how to prepare and write lesson plan.
  • After the initial training, participants will be assigned placement as an English teacher in a Chinese school. At the school, participants will be supported in your teaching role by us and also by an on-site liaison, who will assist particpants with everyday needs, such as settling into your accommodations, setting up a bank account and getting a mobile telephone.

Eligibility & Qualifications:


  • Open to college graduates, senior undergraduate students (3rd year/4th year), students on a gap-year, or in exceptional cases 1st year undergraduate students.
  • Open to students of all subjects; however majors in education, applied linguistics, arts and science streams are preferred.
  • Students must have above average academic performance, with a clear and documented professional interest in their career field.
  • Candidates must pass the HSK Chinese Language Proficiency Exam level 3 or higher and apply before January 31st.
