Cultivating Powerful Roots: Fearless Chicana/Latina Reading and Discussion with Maya Christina Gomzalez

Award-winning children’s book author and illustrator, Maya Christina Gonzalez, will give a reading and presentation about her artwork and her role as a Chicana/Latina artist. She will discuss how art allows her to document the histories of Latino Americans and how she works as a fearless Chicana to advance the cultural heritage of people across generations.

This event is free and open to the public.

Latino Americans: 500 Years of History has been made possible through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Library Association.
