Architecture faculty prepare to take the stage

June 15, 2018 – More than 100 undergraduates and 35 master’s candidates walked across the stage of Lincoln Performance Hall today, cheered by friends, family and faculty.

After the graduates made a triumphant entry to the fanfare of the PSU Trumpet Studio, Dean Leroy Bynum, Jr. spoke about artists' responsibility to make the world a better place. His "air hug" to graduates—whom he addressed as fellow artists and kindred spirits—was warmly received.

Four graduates—one from each school in the College of the Arts—gave speeches:

  • Ciera Tague (B.S. Graphic Design)
  • Cosette Hardman (Master of Architecture)
  • Lifia Tegus (B.M. Music Performance)
  • Julie Lew (B.A. Film)

The 2018 Andries Deinum Prize for Visionaries and Provocateurs was presented to Cheryl Leontina (Master of Architecture)

The Dean’s Award for Excellence was awarded to Christina Ebersohl (Music Performance) and Maya Stoner (Art Practice).

After the ceremony, graduates and guests enjoyed a reception with music by the PSU Jazz Trio and delicious cupcakes.

Photos and video of the event will be shared with graduates within the next week.

Congratulations to the class of 2018!
