Panel members will discuss the diversity of women's experiences across the Middle East, North Africa and Southwest Asia. Topics include gender policy, economic empowerment and civic engagement.

Moderated by Lindsay Benstead, interim director of the Middle East Studeis Center. Panel members are:

Anita Haidary, M.P.P. candidate at Portland State, who works in public policy to support women's rights and equal access to education in Afghanistan.

Tagrid Khuri Ph.D. has more than 30 years of multi-disciplinary experience in human development and gender studies working with an array of private and public institutions across the U.S., Middle East and North Africa.

Issrar Chamekh, M.A. candidate at Portland State, who previously worked in public education. Her current research focuses on women's representation and social movements in Tunisia.
