Celebrate the grand opening of Portland State’s new Viking Pavilion at the Peter W. Stott Center with food, entertainment and the official ribbon-cutting. The vibrant, sustainably-designed venue is home to Vikings Athletics and a multipurpose event center. Sitting at the gateway of Portland’s South Park Blocks, the Viking Pavilion brings a much-needed space for student and community engagement.

Viking Pavilion Quick Facts

  • Home to Portland State Athletics
  • New arena will host Vikings Volleyball and Basketball games

  • Special events can accommodate up to 3,400 people with floor seating. Arena seating can accommodate up to 3,000 people.
  • Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification
  • Project Start Date: August 2013
  • Cost: $52.1 million, including a $7.5 million sponsorship from OHSU. The renovation is fully funded through state bonds, private donors, OHSU and student fees. Funding does not come from general operating funds or tuition dollars.

  • General Contractor: Fortis Construction
