Rethinking Democracy

A panel conversation will center on what freedom means in these “post-colonial" times. Panel members will speak on issues of democracy and citizen participation as well as the challenges of the rule of law (or lack of it) and constitutionalism in Africa.
Djimet Dogo will speak on the opportunities that have resulted in the successes of different countries like Chad, Ghana, Kenya. As young voters, students are also expected to gain a better understanding of governance and the rights of citizens to demand delivery from public officials.
Jaboa Lake and Laura John will lead the current conversation on race, immigration, Indigenous rights.
