About the Speaker: Dr. David Li Collins Professor of the Humanities, University of Oregon 


“Ethnicity, Class Mobility and China's Westward Expansions” is part of David’s new book of photo essays in progress. He shows the audience his own documentary images from Tibet, Dali, Guizhou and elsewhere. He then explains two less understood Chinese phenomena, “class mobility” and “spirituality” both in Mao’s time and in present day China.
