  • Confucius Institute teachers,

  • Confucius Classroom students and teachers,

  • U.S. Wushu Center,

  • Haiyan International Dance Academy

  • and other community members.

About Confucius Institute at PSU:
The Confucius Institute at PSU (CI-PSU) is a cultural resource center and non-degree granting entity that promotes cultural exchange and cooperation between the U.S. and the People’s Republic of China.  Housed in Portland State's Office of International Affairs, the Confucius Institute at PSU (CI-PSU) was established in partnership with the  China National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (HanBan) in 2007.

Introduction to the U.S. Wushu Center
Founded in 1991, the U.S. Wushu Center is the largest Chinese martial arts school in Oregon. Its mission is to promote Chinese culture and develop students’ character, and physical and intellectual health.  The Center attracts people from all walks of life, including professionals, K-12 students, and others.  Center students have won many international competitions.  

Introduction to the Haiyan International Dance Academy
The Haiyan International Dance Academy (HIDA) was founded by Haiyan Wu who was a principal ballerina at many prestigious ballet companies. HIDA emphasizes the development of strong technique, appreciation for various dance styles, and discovery of the joy of movement and expression. Students can learn the important values of discipline, perseverance and cooperation, and develop life skills. The instructors include current outstanding dance teachers as well as professional dancers.
