What happens if I have a low GPA?

To be considered for regular admission by Portland State University applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 in all undergraduate courses or a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in all graduate credit (a minimum of 9 credits). Students with an undergraduate GPA between 2.50 and 2.74 can be considered for conditional admission. The conditions of admission usually require the student to maintain a 3.0 GPA or above for the first 9 credits of his/her graduate program. Students failing to meet this condition will be dropped from the program. If your undergraduate GPA is below 2.50 you must take 9 graduate credits or more with a cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher to be considered for admission.
