Project Background

Finding a Way to the Halprin Sequence is a wayfinding campaign that highlights how easy it is to walk to the Halprin Sequence, a series of fountains, plazas and pathways in the Auditorium District. We are adapting an approach developed by Walk Your City, a civic group based in Raleigh, NC, engaging the community in developing temporary wayfinding sign directing people towards the Halprin Sequence.

What's the Plan?

  • 10:30 a.m. Meet at PSU Rec Center - volunteer to join a team to install the signs or help with logistics, photography, or cheer us on! Teams will install signs at various locations within a 15-minute walk of the PSU Rec Center and the Halprin Sequence
  • 11:30 a.m. Reconvene at Laughing Planet Cafe (SW 4th and Montgomery) to celebrate — Refreshments provided!

The Wayfinding Coalition is a neighborhood partnership between residents and members of the following organizations:

  • Downtown Neighborhood Association
  • Halprin Landscape Conservancy
  • Portland State University
  • South Auditorium Greenway Environs
