This course will examine the intersection of race, nation and social justice through the study of three minority communities in Berlin, Germany. These groups are Turkish “Guest Workers”, Afro-Germans and the LGTBQ community. All three of these groups have struggled over time to create community as they face a historically xenophobic, homophobic and white nationalist culture.
