Margolis Healy, an independent security consulting firm Portland State hired to review campus safety policies and procedures following the officer-involved fatal shooting of Jason Washington, will be holding nine listening forums on campus. PSU encourages students, faculty, staff and community members to attend one of the forums and provide feedback to the consultant.

Margolis Healy will also examine training, staffing and possible alternatives to a sworn, armed campus police force. Their review will study all options to protect the campus and make recommendations to President Rahmat Shoureshi and the PSU Board of Trustees. The consultant has asked that no audio or video recordings, as well as still photography, be allowed during the forums that could discourage individuals from attending or speaking.

There will be an online survey available the week of Oct. 29 for those who cannot attend the forums but would like to provide feedback.
