Originally from Texas, Taryn migrated to the Pacific Northwest for graduate school. The compelling pedagogy and burgeoning thesis curriculum drew her to Portland State’s School of Architecture, where she completed her M.Arch in 2012.  While attending PSU, Taryn was granted fellowship of the Green Building Research Laboratory, received the Kamelia Massih College of the Arts Outstanding Student Award and completed her thesis titled “Creating the Riparian City.”  After graduation, Taryn continues to play an active roll in the School of Architecture as an Adjunct Professor and council to the Shattuck Hall Ecological Learning Plaza.  Parallel to her faculty position, Taryn is a designer at SRG Partnership where she primarily develops civic architecture, such as classrooms facilities, laboratories and hospitals
