For the second year in a row, Computerworld has included Portland State University on its list of Best Places to Work in IT. The top 100 list honors organizations that challenge their IT staff while providing great benefits and compensation.

“Portland State University is excited to once again be recognized by Computerworld for this distinguished award,” said Kirk Kelly, PSU’s Chief Information Officer. “Employees are our number one value, and I’m proud to work with our outstanding staff. This award is a reflection of the great work environment that PSU and OIT have created for our employees.”

The Best Places to Work in IT list is based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, whose responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.

In Computerworld’s analysis of common attributes that selected employers share, they write “The things that seem to really set organizations apart are benefits that reflect an attitude: We value our employees, we listen to our employees, we empower our employees, we want our employees to be challenged and grow professionally, and we want them to enjoy both their work and their personal lives.”
