The Impact Entrepreneurs program of Portland State University is pleased to announce speakers and pitch finalists for its third annual Elevating Impact Summit on Friday February 5th, 2016 from 8:00am -5:30pm at PSU’s Lincoln Theater in downtown Portland, Oregon.

Portland’s premier social innovation conference, the Elevating Impact Summit showcases new approaches to generating social and environmental impact across business, social, public, and academic sectors. Attendees include social entrepreneurs, impact investors, business and nonprofit professionals, students, academics, and government officials.

More than 25 speakers will grace the stage for both fast-paced and deep-reaching discussions. Three prominent local and international social entrepreneurs will deliver keynotes:

  • Amelia Pape, Founder, My Street Grocery
  • Ami Dar, Founder,
  • Al Etmanski, Author, Educator & Ashoka Fellow
Musical and interactive performances will be interlaced within the program. A distinctive “third space” geodesic dome installment by Escape Collective, founded by PSU students, will provide a gathering place for networking and showcase Changemaker offerings for students and community members from PSU’s Institute for Sustainable Solutions, Impact Entrepreneurs, Center for Public Interest Design, and others. The Summit will honor three local Impact Award winners, recognized for their significant achievements in the field of social entrepreneurship.

Five rising social entrepreneurs will pitch their novel social change ideas and vie for the audience vote to win cash and prizes. With concepts ranging from spoken word poetry and hip hop courses to inspire incarcerated youth to an organization that helps people facing natural disasters make new plans for their futures, the finalists are: Camions of Care, Manage My Co-Op, ParticipAid, Verbal Escape, and Young Mountain Tea

Elevating Impact is hosted by Portland State University’s Impact Entrepreneurs. Established by PSU’s School of Business Administration, Impact Entrepreneurs works with individuals and organizations committed to unleashing the promise of business for social impact.

Event tickets are $100 if purchased now and $125 at the door. Students from any school can register any time for the discounted rate of $20.
