PSU’s Campus Public Safety Office (CPSO) is moving from the basement of Shattuck Hall to Koinonia House on the corner of Broadway and SW Montgomery. It will hold an open house at the new location Wednesday, Feb. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The open house will feature free hot dogs and tours of the new facility.

The new location is more central and visible than the Shattuck Hall office. And unlike the old location it will be open 24 hours a day. It will be better equipped to deliver services to people experiencing trauma, such as survivors of sexual assault. For example, it will feature a dedicated “soft room” – a comfortable and less institutional setting where trauma victims can meet privately with advocates.

It also will offer more space to CPSO’s growing staff. CPSO currently has five police officers and seven public safety officers, and more hiring is planned for the current fiscal year.
