Barbara Tint, Conflict Resolution faculty, presented a keynote speech titled “Communicating Beyond Borders and Barriers” at the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science in August 2019. The speech examined the use of improvisational methods and mindsets to address societal divisions. In September, Tint completed her second month as a resident at the Santa Fe Art Institute, further developing her work in applied improvisation as a tool in truth and reconciliation work, the theme of this year’s residency. There she met with local artists, presented workshops, performed with Second City Improv, consulted with local organizations and deepened her thinking and curriculum in these areas.
