Women, Politics and Social Justice: The 7th annual Walk of the Heroines Lecture

Join Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies for the 7th annual Walk of the Heroines Lecture. Our keynote speaker is state Rep. Teresa Alonso Leon, the first immigrant Latina lawmaker in Oregon's Legislature.

The recent election cycle has seen more women running for office and being elected nationally, and for the first time, elected women in Oregon now hold more statewide political offices than men. We would like to draw on this moment to explore more deeply the politics of social justice, and to consider the role that diverse lived experience can play in shaping a more just political climate.

Thursday, May 9 | 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Smith Memorial Student Union, Room 327/8/9
