PSU MFA Studio Visiting Artist Lecture Series presents Kiyan Williams

Kiyan Williams is a multidisciplinary artist who unearths counter-hegemonic notions of identity and history. They often work with dirt and earth as material and metaphor to explore the relationship between Blackness, diaspora, and queer/trans ecology. Kiyan earned a BA in Comparative Studies from Race and Ethnicity from Stanford University and an MFA from Columbia University Visual Arts Program. Their work has been exhibited at Sculpture Center, Brooklyn Museum, The Jewish Museum, and SFMOMA.
