For English majors and minors, studying abroad is an excellent way to get valuable experience, set your resume apart, and fulfill degree requirements. Did you know you can study abroad for a similar estimated cost of attendance as studying at PSU? Many programs have specific scholarships for Pell Grant students, transfer students, students who are working, etc. You can also use your financial aid towards your study abroad program or your Veterans Benefits! Scotland: Edinburgh - Book Publishing
(2 weeks in August)

Gain practical, applied publishing experience in the birthplace of Harry Potter! Students will earn 4 credits towards their Masters in Book Publishing degree or English major or minor while attending the 2020 Edinburgh Book Festival and visiting leading publishing houses in Scotland. The city of Edinburgh will be your classroom as students focus on building critical skills for understanding and working within an international book environment, particularly in Scotland. 

Austria: Vienna - Interdisciplinary Creative Writing
(2 weeks in June)

Students from all majors with an interest in writing are invited to apply to this program, in which they will earn 4 writing elective credits. Through extensive city tours and excursions, cultural site visits, and inspiring seminars, workshops, and guest lectures, students will draw on the artful energy, inspirations, and complexities of Vienna in order to broaden the horizons of your writing practice and breathe new life into every line.
