STEM Faculty Discussion - Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Student Success
Tuesday, November 19, 2019 - 9:00am to Tuesday, November 19, 2019 - 10:20am

In light of this year's Student Success initiative from the President's and Provost's offices, we are pleased to continue faculty discussions on supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in STEM classrooms. Last year's survey and focus groups revealed that STEM faculty are doing a lot to highlight DEI in STEM classrooms and are eager to share what works and what doesn't with each other. Please join us for coffee on Tuesday, November 19 - in person or via Zoom - to learn more about how fellow faculty are using DEI strategies. First, we will discuss one of the faculty's most contentious topics - how to support DEI in classroom group work assignments. Second, we will discuss how we can talk about DEI in our STEM departments to identify goals for supporting student experiences and academic success.
