Physics Spring 2020 Online Seminar: Chandralekha Singh
Monday, June 1, 2020 - 3:15pm

The Physics department has organized an online seminar via Zoom, with guest speaker Dr. Chandralekha Singh from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh. The title of the seminar is "Facilitating thinking and learning, in and beyond the Physics classrooms"

Dr. Chandralekha Singh will be our guest speaker and will discuss, using her research in Physics education, how research can be used as a guide to develop curricula and pedagogies to reduce student difficulties.

Her research has focused on improving student understanding of introductory and advanced concepts, for example, in learning quantum mechanics. She is developing research-based learning tools such as tutorials and peer instruction tools that actively engage students in the learning process. She will discuss how to evaluate their effectiveness using a variety of methodologies. She will also discuss research studies that provide guidelines for how to enhance physics by making it inclusive.

Note: This seminar's Zoom meeting access details were sent through the Physics Department seminar mailing list. Please contact us at if you would like to attend this online seminar and to be added to our mailing list for future notifications. Thank you!
