Fair Housing Council of Oregon Bus Tour
Tuesday, June 20, 2017 - 7:30am to Tuesday, June 20, 2017 - 2:00pm

The Fair Housing Council of Oregon (FHCO) offers “Fasten Your Seat Belts- It’s Been a Bumpy Ride”, a lively bus tour exploring Portland’s hidden history of housing discrimination, including the ghosts of lost ethnic communities, Klan rallies, and locations where Japanese Oregonians were interned during World War II. The tour features on-site presentations by local experts who lived through these tragic parts of history.

If you teach with community-based learning  (CBL), this is a great opportunity to learn more about the historical and current racial disparities in the Portland community.  During the debrief, we will consider how this information may be used when thinking about your course and the CBL experiences.

This opportunity is open to all PSU faculty who teach with CBL.  If you are not faculty and/or do not currently teach with CBL and wish to attend, please contact Jennifer ( to see if there is space available.

We will start boarding at 7:30 and the bus will leave PSU promptly at 8:00am.  We will return to campus around noon for lunch and a debrief until 2:00 pm.  More details will be emailed to participants as the event nears.

Space is limited.  Participants must be able to stay for the entire time.  Lunch is provided.
